Trail Ride Support
We provide teams and wagons to support cross country trail rides. We also provide comprehensive support infrastructure to support organized trail rides.
CelebrateTheWesternTrail
In 2004, we supported the CelebrateTheWesternTrail organization with a "Hooligan Wagon" The Hooligan wagon was the name of wagons that followed the hands that supported organized cattle herds in established ranches in the southwest in the early part of the 20th century. While the Chuck Wagon carried food, bed rolls and basic necessities required by the cowboy to live in the back country while working the big herds, the "Hooligan Wagon" followed behind and carried the tools and equipment necessary to maintain the ranch. Examples of these supplies might be fencing supplies, hole diggers staples, and shoeing equipment.
The 2004 Western Trail ride was meant to be a historical re-enactment of the cattle drives that went from South Texas to Dodge City, Kansas. It was not practical, however, in today's world to drive cattle that far, so the ride consisted of from 16 to 30 wagons and from 60 to 200 riders, depending on what day you checked.
For this ride, we provided a hooligan wagon and a hooligan
(That's Me!
) On the wagon, we carried extra harness, wagon parts, and tools necessary
to fix wagons that broke during the day. This included every thing from
flat tires to broken tongues. In camp, we provided a welding rig and
cutting torches. We also did horse shoeing in cases where the professional
farrier was overwhelmed by the volume. In the 670 miles of this ride, we
did wagon, horse trailer and automotive repairs for folks at almost every
stop. In our application, we carried wagon parts, tools and extra
harness. On one occasion, we actually towed a wagon behind ours to the
next stop after that wagon broke a tongue and we could not manufacture parts.

Salt Grass
We have provided teams to pull wagons in the 2003 and 2004 Salt Grass trail ride. Promoting the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, the Salt Grass is the oldest of the rides going into Houston. In 2004, one of our teams pulled the "Best Appearing Group" in the parade, The Desperados.
