2007 Training Schedule
June 16-17: Basic Teamster Training.
Class Content: Students will:
learn the names and purpose of team harness parts,
learn to, safely, harness, hitch and drive a single horse, and a team of horses to a wagon or cart.
There will be approximately two hours of lecture and approximately 12 hours of hands-on driving.
If there is interest in farm machinery, we will hitch to and operate hay mowers, plows and hay rakes.
Included:
Two nights lodging at my house.
Meals:
Friday evening (If you arrive on time).
Saturday (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Sunday (Breakfast, Lunch).
Startin Doc and Dan My book on starting teams in harness (That is, if it is finished by then.).
Facilities:
Cost:
Option 1: You stay at my house: $600 per person. (double occupancy)
Option 2: You stay somewhere else: $400 per person. There are lots of nice motels within 15 minutes of my house.
In either case, you need to eat with us at our house. Don't worry! My wife is Italian. The food is great!
Maximum Class Size:
I can, comfortably, accommodate 4 people at my house. More than that will have to find alternate accommodations and will, of necessity, have to choose cost option 2.
I will enroll no more than 6 people for a single class session.
Note:
This is a class for human beings. Do not bring your problem horse or any horse to this session. If you have a problem horse or a horse that needs to be started in harness, contact me. We can set up a horse training clinic later in the year.
